Savings Account Ranking 2026

Savings Account Ranking 2026 – Harveo Finance

A tool created for people who want to grow their savings consciously but don’t have the time to analyze dozens of bank offers every day.

Key Points to Consider

How Does a Savings Account Work?

You deposit any amount, your money earns interest daily, and the interest (usually monthly) is paid directly into your account. You can add or withdraw funds whenever you like — without locking your savings away.

Savings Account or Term Deposit?

Savings Account → flexible access to your money.

Term Deposit → higher interest but no early withdrawals.

Often, the best solution is to combine both.

📈

Interest Rate

Check whether the percentage applies to the entire amount or just part of it.

Promotional Period

Many offers are valid only for the first few months.

💸

Fees & Conditions

Sometimes additional products or account fees are required.

🔒

Access to Funds

Make sure you can freely withdraw and deposit money.

FAQ — Savings Accounts

The most common questions about how they work, terms, safety, and taxes.

What is a savings account and how does it work?
A savings account is an account where your funds earn interest while you keep access to your money. Interest is usually capitalized monthly, and the bank automatically withholds the 19% capital gains tax (“Belka tax”). You can add and withdraw funds in line with the offer’s terms.
Who can open a savings account? Are expats supported?
In most banks, any adult can open an account. Expats typically need a passport or residence card and a proof of address. In our ranking we indicate if a bank serves non-Polish citizens and provides full English-language support.
Does the ranking show only offers that pay us a commission?
No. The ranking is based on offer terms (interest rate, amount limits, promo rules, fees, access to funds). Any commercial cooperation — if present — does not affect the order. We label affiliation information transparently.
How often do you update the ranking?
We monitor changes continuously and refresh the data regularly to present current interest rates and terms valid “as of today.”
What should I pay attention to when choosing an account?
Key criteria: interest rate (on what amount), promotional period, limits (e.g., “new funds”), fees and additional conditions (current account, card), and access to funds (limits on free transfers).
Can I withdraw funds without losing interest?
It depends on the offer. Usually, a withdrawal does not cancel interest already accrued, but some promotions may limit the number of free transfers or introduce fees. Check the offer’s terms and conditions.
Is there a minimum balance requirement?
Not always. If the bank requires a minimum balance, we usually note it in the offer details (failing to meet it may reduce the rate or trigger a fee).
How is the “Belka tax” calculated?
The bank automatically withholds a 19% capital gains tax at the time interest is capitalized. You don’t need to settle it yourself.
Savings account or term deposit — which should I choose?
Choose an account when flexibility and access to funds matter. Choose a term deposit when you can “lock” your funds for a set time, often at a higher rate. Often the best approach is a combination of both.
What happens after the promotional period ends?
The interest rate usually reverts to the bank’s standard rate. It’s worth noting the promo end date and assessing whether the offer still meets your needs.
Are my funds safe? What about the BFG?
Savings accounts at banks covered by the BFG (Bank Guarantee Fund) are protected up to the equivalent of EUR 100,000 per person, per bank. Our ranking indicates banks with this guarantee.
Do I need to have a current account with the same bank?
It depends on the offer. Some savings accounts work independently, while others require a current account, incoming transfers, or card activity. We always include these conditions in the details.
